Fall barged in with a cool attitude here in Central Kentucky which was a welcome relief from a very warm and humid summer. The feel of clear, dry sunny days and crisp, cool nights sure makes one think of football, festivals, Autumn colors and of course, Keeneland Racing. If you haven’t experienced a day at the track, you are in for a real treat! Check it out at www.keeneland.com. We are only 30 minutes from the track on good four lane road which eliminates the traffic snarls and hassles coming out of Lexington. Don’t miss it!

November offers up off-season rates and a slower pace to those outlying excursions in search of antiques and holiday gifts. Helen and I have made numerous envoys into small-town Kentucky this summer as we escorted several Innkeeper friends in search of the unique, rural heritage experience. What fun! You should visit the Monastery at Gethsemane, the beautiful shops of Bloomfield, Woodford Reserve Distillery at Versailles or experience the charm of Springfield, Perryville, Bardstown, Campbellsville, Greensburg, etc., etc.. Buy a pumpkin out of the field, honey from a roadside stand, bittersweet and mistletoe from the back of a pick up truck. It’s small town Kentucky at its best, all within an hour’s drive of our front door. Ask for one of Helen’s day itineraries for a truly special adventure. It’s pure Kentucky!
